Recommendations
My research covered alot but maybe someone could go further in criticism of ESL students. I did not go in depth on that topic and it would be interesting to discover more. Once again my topic is based on opinion so it is hard to get a clear answer.
Conclusions
Data Interpretation
I have learned from my data that more than 1/2 of the people who i gave my survey to thought that being ESL is not hard. From my other graph i found that some people thought that it is hard and that others thought it was not. More had lower numbers of difficulty like 1's and 2's.

Article Summary
My article was about a ESL classroom. ESL stands for English is the Second Language. Sue Beresin is a ESL teacher. She teaches Juniors and Seniors in High School how to read and write in English. Most of these students are fluent in Spanish. They are all at low level phonics and write at 3rd grade level. It is hard for Sue but harder for the students.

Is it harder knowing one language before English or more than one?
How many languages do you know before English?
Is it harder knowing one language before English or more than one?
My Research Goal
Because knowing more than one language can give you power, I would like to know if it is hard to have English as a second language.

My Language Beliefs
Language to me is very important because the ability to communicate can make you powerful. I have found in class discussions that being able a speak other languages and being unable to speak a language can effect the way people act and the way people see others. I remember one of the speakers who came to class who told us a story about when she was at a party in South Africa and some South Africans told her a cheers in Afrikaans. She went around South Africa doing this cheer at parties and getting dirty looks for it. Eventually someone told her it meant something bad and that would not be said at parties. These South Africans had power over her because they knew the language and she didn't. I believe this is a good example of how powerful language really is.
